We received a brief update from Chris. We haven't received a whole lot from them recently and we now know why. She informed us today that over the weekend they lost two babies. A little girl named Sokia (10 months), passed away at 3:35am on Sunday most likely due to an infected shunt in her head placed there for her hydracephalis. A little boy named Jude (13 months) passed away in the hospital at 1am on Monday morning. He had been running a high fever and his breathing was very fast. Neither of these children had been placed with adoptive families. Praise God they will never know sickness again, and that they are with their heavenly Father.
Please join with me in praying for Hal and Chris and the rest of the staff at HIS Home. Also, please be praying for the health and protection of all the children at the orphanage.
As a side note, it is interesting how God works. Just when I think it's time for me to know something and I begin to wonder what's going one, He reminds me that there is usually something much bigger than me going on. In this case, Chris has been having to devote all of her attention to baby Sokia (10 months) for the last month and has had little time to keep up with e-mails. I had considered calling her to find out where our paperwork was...maybe God is teaching me yet again to just be patient and wait on his timing.
