Baby Sendy needs your prayers

There is a little girl at HIS Home named Sendy who needs your prayers. She is 2 years old and has hydrocephalis - or water on the brain. She desperately needs to have stent surgery to put a stent in her neck to drain the water from her brain to her stomach. As each day goes by, her situation gets worse - more water, more swelling, more pressure. She is a happy girl and has a beautiful smile.

A local hospital has agreed to donate their time, etc., to perform the much needed surgery. Everything is ready to go, but the hospital has not produced the documents they need to produce in order for Sendy to get a medical VISA to come to the states for the surgery. The couple who run the orphanage had hoped to bring her with them when they come stateside for a vacation next week. Because the hospital has not produced the documents, this will not happen.

But all hope is not lost - remember that God is in control and he has a plan and it is perfect. We received an e-mail today asking if we could bring her back with us after our mission trip to Haiti in a few weeks. We, of course, said we would absolutely bring her back and would even stay a few extra days if we needed to. Please pray that all of this works out so that she can come back with us in a few weeks.

Our friends will be hosting her during this time of surgery and recovery. They are very excited to host her, and even though they haven't admitted it to themselves, they will probably adopt her. I talked to my friend today and she told me that she is afraid that she won't host Sendy, not that Sendy won't get the surgery, but that she wouldn't be the one taking care of her. My friend is a nurse and she was actually at the O when Sendy's biological mom brought her for evaluation. She evaluated the little girl and said that other than signs of malnutrition - common for Haitian children - and the obvious signs of hedrocephaly, she was health. A few weeks later her bio mom brought her to the orphanage for the medical help as well as to give her up for adoption. God has had his hand in this process from the day my friend first met Baby Sendy. I have no doubt that God will work things out for the good of his plan - all we can do is be a part of that plan and trust and wait.
