i need to take cream to haiti

We had "snow" today...in the form of flurries that actually lasted quite awhile.  Princess N remarked that all snowflakes are different.  Indeed, she is right...there are many shapes and sizes and we saw several different sizes in just our little afternoon "snow".

I also got an e-mail from HIS Home.  I saw it and initially thought she might be telling me we got our dispensation.  But that wasn't it....unfortunately.  She did let me in on what happened on Wednesday morning with Joshua's mom.  She arrived as she was supposed to...but then tried to get out of it by using a lot of execuses.  One of the excuses was that she needed to put cream on her arms! Chris gave her a nice bottle and put her in the car and away they went!  They briefed her on the the questions they would ask - things like his name, birthdate, etc.  These were important because his name and birthdate, as they appear on his birth certificate, do not match what she had told them.  His birth certificate reads "Joshua Wood" and not just "Wood" and when they translated the birthdate, they translated it from "june" to "july", so his birthdate is listed as July 28, 2007, rather than June 28, 2007. *  In the e-mail, she said that once she knew wht to expect she calmed down.  She did very well during the interview and the only answer she didn't get "right" was the name of the orphanage - but she did know the address so they accepted the name she gave them.  The lady from the embassy said that she did very well.  Miss C also gave them the needed mandate from HIS Home which addresses how he came to be at HIS Home - why, who brought him, under what circumstances, etc.  So now the embassy has everything they need, except the original file which won't happen until it clears MOI.  In order for THAT to happen, we NEED the dispensation.  Ugh....so close and yet so far away.

***We have not yet determined what birthdate we will use.  If we want to use the June date, we will need to re-adopt him here in the US.  That's not all that difficult, but it does cost money.

So, that's where we stand.  No, we do NOT know how much longer.  No, we do NOT know when we will be able to bring him home.  We know you all mean well by asking.  Please know though, that IF we knew something, you would all know it too.  So although we do know you mean well, and it is only because you care, please don't ask us when, because we just don't know.  Keep praying for our dispensation...that's the next bridge we need to cross.  We appreciate your concern and your prayers.  You will know when we have any news.

I am off to bed for now...I have developed quite the cold and just want to crawl into my bed, snuggle under my covers, and go off to slumberland.

Always hoping.  Always trusting.  Always loving.  Always.
