It is the only way to describ how I feel right now.  Our own government is causing delays in getting our kids home and it is more than frustrating.

After being told to bring 56 children to the embassy for an appointment, spending 12 hours at the embassy yesterday, and a night at the embassy last night, Chris really is walking away empty handed - for most of the kids.

She was told that only those children whose adoption decrees had been finalized by the Haitian Government would be allowed visas at this time.  They did not even grant medical visas for the sick kids.  So, once again, planes are leaving empty that could otherwise be full of kids that have parents in the US.

We were encouraged last night when we found out that they were staying the night and hoped for good news to come today.  Alas, that is not to be. Instead we learn that the US Government is railroading all of us aodptive parents and it makes me really mad.  It is a constant hurry up and wait.  Now they are saying it could be 2 to 3 weeks before all of the kids that have adoptive parents are out of Haiti.  Given the conditions they are living in, a lot of not-so-good things can happen in 2 to 3 weeks.

This is absolutely ridiculous.  I CANNOT believe it is our OWN government that is doing this.  The humane thing to do would be to take all of the kids to the US, place them in protective custody, quarntine, whatever, and process them here instead of there.  At least here they have food, water, shelter, and security.  There they are entirely dependent on supply and relief convoys.  How much longer will our own government continue to change the rules or the plan???

This is ridiculous and I am frustrated, sad, depressed, and defeated.  I just want my son home.
